Dr. Drake's teaches chemistry, physics, biology, and forensic science at Flora High School.  He is also the coach of the FHS Scholastic Bowl and Academic Challenge teams.

Dr. Drake is originally from Princeton, Illinois.  He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University before earning his master's degree and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he worked for seven years as a research assistant.  He earned a chemistry degree and teaching certification at Illinois State University, and student taught at Normal Community High School in Normal, Illinois.
